The Kansas Democratic Party is the state affiliate political party of the national Democratic Party in Kansas. Although registered Republicans outnumber Democrats 2 to 1, the Kansas Democratic Party has been able to win top offices and make gains in the Kansas Legislature by appealing to moderate Republican and independent voters. They have also increased the party's success by recruiting prominent Republicans who have grown dissatisfied with the Kansas Republican Party. Democrats currently hold a majority of Kansas' statewide offices, including those Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and Treasurer, as well as one of Kansas' four Congressional districts.
